Got 3 of the brake lines made today. Still need to come up with an adapter for the line from the rear end but I need an adapter for that one.

I decided to route a little cleaner as I was sick of fighting the coils on the stock lines when checking plugs.

Ran the drivers brake line under the frame, mostly to stay away from header heat.

Fair amount of clearance now, I don't have a before pic handy but I had one line heat wrapped because is was close to the header band clamp.

Then got the rivets from the previous heater delete, that the previous owner installed, driller out and scraped some of the sloppy gobs of silicone out to install the Mike's Monte aluminum delete, you know, light weight racecar and all.

Fuel line from the tank is also done, put a high flow 90 on and it's ready to bolt up and finish fuel system install.

That’s a fancy bracket ya got there for the like lock.

I like it. Tucked out of the way very nicely.

What happened in the wheel saga?

The wheel saga is multi faceted. Waiting for the return to start to process. I might be forced into 15x10 5.5" BS S71s ($$$), the internet says they fit over LS1 Fbody brakes. I MIGHT consider some different brakes as Wilwood has a 11" setup for just this problem and get some matching drag beadlock Venturas BUT they only come 15x10" with 7.5" BS. I also might order 17x10" and run a soft compound 275/40 that works on AutoX and get proper 15" rims when I can mini-tub and do it right.

I have decided nothing yet. Still a lot of factors to process.

‘Wheels suck’ is all I have to add, because of all of the things you described. ‘Wheel purchase decisions’ is synonymous with 2nd guessing myself to death.

Let weight be your deciding factor, that’s what I did (with a reasonable budget of course.) Took all of the 2nd guessing out of it - ‘I’m buying a set of Drag Lites.’ End of my discussion.

Glad to see you’re making progress. I really want to hear and see this run.

Lol, I just want them to fit! And be wide enough I don't get a punch in the twig&berries from Mikey. 🤣🤣

I am leaning towards the 17x10, run some nitto NT05 275/40s and lean it towards AutoX until I get the frame notched and make room for wide drag wheels and tires. That will be the same time as a set of 35 spines and a spool in a real housing. The nittos are pretty good for a 1.60 60 and will probably save me from blowing something up. I'd probably do rear drag brakes and be done with the headache at the same time. This is kinda what is making sense to me right now. Plus it's less expensive and gets the car driving asap. Selling a staggered set of 17s would also be easy when it stops being a fun street toy and becomes more of a drag only beast.

You aren't going to like this but... In my opinion you are going to need to go to 18x10 or 18x11s. Then you have the tire options that are open to the Demon... and those tires could also be used for other types of racing. I have pretty successfully drag raced and auto-x on the NT05R. Your suspension should be far more tunable to extract the most out of that type of drag radial. It is all going to be an unfortunate compromise .

Real mean have wrinkles……..on their tires

🤣

The Mustang world uses the 17s I've read. We shall see if that's true.

Otherwise yes, compromise on top of compromise. But the bmw could use the rubber when it becomes a drag beast. So its kinda like recycling.
