Oh, boy, the hits just keep on comin'! I just found this: https://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?2033-Disable-anti-theft-system My donor had the resistor in the key which points toward the Passkey 3 VATS that has a hex code fuel enable signal (virtually impossible to replicate- for me anyway). My buddy is bringing HPT over to see what we can do. I don't remember if I have the BCM from the donor or not. If indeed I do, I may have to wire it in to create the hex code. I have seen some threads that point toward unplugging the BCM with the engine running to put the PCM into theft disable mode. :headbang:

IIRC the key/cylinder are paired with the cluster. There is a key-on relearn procedure if the system loses calibration. You buddy and HPT should get around that. Good luck!

That's why i said make a key without the chip and see if it works.

But you were just touching the wires to start it.

It can be done. The square signal is a pain but my friend and I did it on his wife's Firebird.

The BCM can be avoided as well since that was the reason we got rid of it.

It kept throwing a security code and would not start or crank.

At least you are starting........ sort of

Let me talk to him after work to see what we did exactly

I found a BCM diagram, so I can measure the key and install a resistor to simulate it. Fingers crossed for the module being in the pile of crap I cut out. I should know something this evening.
TURNA, I think you missed the part about the hex code signal. I'd be ecstatic if all I had to do was put the signal generator in for the 5v 50hz square wave.....
I still want to at least adjust the tire size and rear gear ratio in HPT. I ran the RPO code on the rear last night- 2.41. If I get it running, it should go 200mph!

No the hex code or square code can be bypassed

I just got home I will post back in a few with what was done to bypass it.

What state are u in again?

Mental or Geographical? Bat S Crazy in MD

I forgot to add that it seems there were certain v6 PCMs (Regals for one and it seems F-bodies, too) that don't have the option to select Fuel Enable=None in HPT like the v8s. I'll know that for sure tomorrow.

Didn't try it tonight, but I did find the BCM and figure out the wiring. After my basic electrical skills failed me (I blame happy hour) by trying to parallel resistors to achieve the desired rating, i remembered that series would work. So, it's at least all ready to go.

I got it running!!!!!!!

HPT was pretty much useless. There are no provisions for disabling VATS or Fuel Enable Disable on this PCM. I had to wire the BCM with a resistor across the ignition cylinder leads. I was also able to unplug the BCM while it was running, and it will still start without it. I'm going to wire it in for future loss of signal just in case.

Let the install begin!
