Time for the little blue bottle...
let's just let Dr Frankenstein perform the autopsy before madness strikes again....... sheeesh!
I'm ready to kill it with fire!
Well, what had happened was... I "thought" (1st problem) that I could just slide under there, undo the inspection cover, pull the bolts out of the converter, and see if the flexplate was cracked by sounding it with a hammer. No dice. Had to pull the starter, these stupid little engine to bellhousing braces, and started on the y-pipe. Then, I realized the inspection cover isn't going to give me the access I need easily, and I might as well just pull the whole f-ing thing. I really didn't want to blow it apart until i had an idea of what the hell is wrong first. I don't want be balls deep in disassembly, not have money to fix it, and it all over my garage.
can’t you see enough of the flex plate with the starter out to see if it’s cracked?
Take a deep breath doc
Nope. The 4L60E's inspection cover is flat, facing the back of the oil pan. For some reason, i thought the bottom was open like a TH.
