It's your car and you can do what you want. Just know that if you abandon this project I'm going to demand a full refund on all the time I spent reading this thread.

Hey, at least all the idiosyncrasies are detailed for future attempts. 😀

Ya know, I thought of a good analogy for this whole sitch.... Did you ever watch Monster Garage, and see Jesse James take the failed project out in the desert to anniilate it? That's how I feel, only, I'm not burning Discovery Channel's money. That's why I want it gone.if noone here wants it, a set of rod bearings go in, and it goes on CL for an extra thousand. I think the price is fair; it basically covers parts and paint.

And, yes, I know Jesse James is an a-hole, but so am I!

Jesse James is another rich douche bag ruining more cars than fixin them!!

I'd hang out with Jesse James.
Don't destroy your car.

You sound justifiably frustrated. At this point you know what the car is and what it isn't. Why not let it sit for a few days/weeks while you do other stuff then maybe you'll feel more like finishing it? Then at least if you hate the results you'll still have a running car to sell. Right now it's a broken project. Not great ROI.

I would also hang out with Jesse James. He can fabricate now, no doubt about that. If I had the money I would buy the pig. The hard part is all done. I think you a complished what you set out to do. Put a 3800 in a G Body and drive it. Not your fault the engine was bad! I have one of those projects that I put away because it made me frustrated. It has been five years and still not ready to go back to it yet. On to better things I guess.

Would it have been possible to edit your transmission's shift points higher in HPTuners to help counteract the gearing issues? Such as telling the computer to not shift into 4th until you hit 65 to keep the cruise RPM higher, or not letting the torque converter lockup in 3rd gear.

I realize the ship has sailed, but I wonder if the computer thinking you had a 3.XX ratio might have been pushing all your shift points way too low.
