Got some wrench time in today. Damn oil drain plug was rusted and balls tight. While rapping on the vice grips, I noticed a dull thud. I'm thinking that I should just get a new pan for $50 as the old one is mashed anyway. I did install the ZZP oil volume kit, new idler, new coolant elbows, belt, and ltensioner

Note the updated heater hose connectors; They are a must have if doing this...

No more scared than I am of your bodywork. 😉
I got this (I think). LOL. Even the most skilled boxer, performer, athlete, etc will tell you that if you're not scared, you're not trying. Trust me, I've been over everything in my head several hundred times, and still want to check and triple check stuff. Then, I read about people stuffing the same thing into rock buggies......:itchy:

Got into the meat and taters of the swap today. A new oil pan was nowhere to be had locally, so I settled on a new gasket, drain plug, and beating the dent out of the bottom.
Sludge!

Had to air chisel the drain plug out

this was my original idea. only i wanted the manual transmission and planned on using the l67 short block and running a turbo. i had a 98 gtp that ran 13 flat and then a 01 gtp coupe that ran 11.6 very stout engines. he may be on here but there was a guy on the grand prix forum that did the swap using the l67 short block in his grand national and pulled 10's all day

Then, on to the motor mounts where things got interesting....
I'm using the standard Anchor replacements. I don't even know if they'll work, but I have my fingers crossed.
The holes needed to be opened up on both. The driver side needs about 1/4" trimmed to clear the dipstick tube

The passenger side was more complex. There is a boss with 2 tapped holes that needs to be cut off

I wasn't comfortable grinding any further no knowing where water passages are. It's close but not perfect

HOWEVER, the engine mount wants to occupy the same space as the A/C compressor.

After a bunch of brain F-ing it, I finally figured it out. I rotated the bracket up as it pivoted on one of the bolts, then made a bracket to support the orphaned tab. I still need to fab a rear support. I rerouted the serpentine, and it actually needs to be shorter. I might not have quite enough wrap on the power steering pulley, but I'll deal with that later. It looks like the A/C compressor is going to be really tight to the control arm attaching point. I'm running with it for now.
