I love those wagons, had a chance decades ago to rescue one from the bone yard with front end damage. Wish I'd had the foresight, would've been an easy fix but only rescued the motor.

So I know how it is on the road now. How was the trip home?
I made it, but not without incident(s). I went into the first exit, GSP TO 195W, a little hot, and on the wet road, on cold tires, I got some understeer that pulled my puckering string tight. I missed the White Castle exit where I thought I was going to get gas. I stopped at the NJTP service Sunoco, and the kid running the pump ain't listen when I told him he had to fill it slowly. It put 3 gal in, and kicked out while he was trying to do 3 other cars. I told him he had to fill it slow, it should take about 14 gal, went in to take a leak, and when I got back he was done with 14.5 in. He probably wasn't happy, but WTFE. When I hit Delaware, it was really apparent how ignorant MD, PA, and VA drivers are. Let's hang out in the left lane like our S don't stink..... I'm like

Well, here we are friends. 20k miles deep and pimpin' like it ain't...... shut yo mouf!
My ZR1 buddy sent me a Christmas gift- a 2.5" Borla Pro XS. I've always hated how the Walker transverse muffler sounded. Tonight, I redid the exhaust from the y-pipe back. Instead of jogging to the driver's side, over the axle, and through the muffler, I went straight back on the passenger side with the muffler under the rear seat. It sounds soooooo much better at idle and through mid-range. Upper rpms get a little silly, but I'll take the lower tone all day.

Tough to get a 6 cyl to sound good. Even if I was to supercharge the 3.6 Pentastar in our Challenger, I would leave the factory exhaust. It has just enough noise and no drone, unlike our 2010, the 3.5 had slight drone at low speeds. Of course part of the reason new V6's perform is a much better exhaust system. It has a true dual, probably 2.5" dual exhaust with a X pipe. GM's exhaust from the mid 70's to the 90's was horrible. Like they couldn't have added dual cats instead of a crappy crossover or Y pipe then dual exhaust after the cat. Even FE3X prototype just eliminated Olds awful crossover pipe and added a Y pipe, imagine if they added true dual exhaustwith those shorty headers. Ford added actual dual exhaust with shorty headers, it added 35 hp with a slightly better tuned carb and tiny improvement roller cam. Why GM didn't do that and just soak the owner's of these performance models is beyond me. The whole dual outlet transverse muffler is a joke. Probably worth a 1/4 hp on the dyno, especially on something like 79 and 80 Hurst/Olds and 442.
