I want to add power door locks to my 85 Conquista. I have new switches but need everything else.

Anybody parting out a PDL 2 door G body?

Any aftermarket recommendations?

Thanks as always.

You'll need the door wiring harness for the PDL (most likely junkyard parts or if someone has a dead car with PDLs and they want to get rid of the wiring), the PDL actuators (two of GM p/n 22020256 or equivalent [mid-86-88 they changed the part number]), the PDL relay (GM p/n 20306055- Very hard to find new) , and the PDL lock rod setup (GM p/n 20060529 for LH, GM p/n 20060528 superseded to 20094674 for RH).

Forgive me if I'm missing anything here. Oh, yeah, you'll need to get the brackets for the actuators.

I'd try to go with factory parts setup junk if at ALL possible. That way if something goes belly up later, you can just find factory replacement parts. 78-88 Monte, Cutlass, Regal and 82-87 Elky/Cabby pretty much interchange here. Not sure about Malibu, GP or Grand Am though, but I think they're similar.

The main pieces of the rod you want are the main swivel piece that goes to the lock, both R&L:

And the rod to go to the lock button on top of the inner panel need both sides:

Plus the one going to the actuator need both sides.

The relay is tough to find. But here's what it looks like. It's usually up under the dash.

Some of the aftermarket actuators have the brackets already installed. That's one option. GM ones and other aftermarkets don't have brackets. So if you get them off a junkyard gem, make sure to take the brackets with you.

Thanks for all the great info. With this I should be able to find what I need from a yard.

I'll add a note on the rod set up. There is two set ups, one intergreaded into the lock rod pivot & one that is a simple add on to a non PDL set up. I have the simple set up for both my boy's & my car conversion.

That will be the easiest thing to do.

Where did you get the PDL system?
