Well I have been having problems with my car overheating. I think I figure it out to being my radiator and eletric fan are not big enough. So I was wondering what you guy suggest I get? My specs are 402 big block, turbo 350, 4.10 gears. I was thinking something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0458480435, but give your options

Aluminum radiators are just cool, so its not money wasted. But it sounds like you don't know what the cause of the overheating is. So you could drop a bunch of $$$ and not fix the issue. What tstat are you running? Does it get hot in traffic or moving down the road? Is the condenser still in front of the radiator? Answering some of these questions might get you closer to knowing what the cause is.

When I sit in traffic it get hot super fast. Then when I drive it stays pretty stagnate on the temp that it was when I was stuck in traffic. It might go down a tinny bit, but not much. Example my car will be 140 and then shoot to 190 stuck at a light. Then I will be moving and it will only get to 180 or stay at 190. Then once I stop again it will shoot right back up again. It will get over to 260 where the Red area is. So I have to stop my car and let it cool down. I have a 190 thermostat. Also the condenser is still in front of my car, but I do not have my air hooked up.

well I would check electric fans, i had some ebay cheapo's and what i notice after i brought a mark 8 fan was those cheapo's didn't move air through the radiator, they just displaced air in various directions, also you may want to step down to a lower thermostat, a 160 will open up faster and you car will stay cooler for a longer period of time, but if your cooling system is just crappy then it will overheat also. check your water pump for good flow and for God's sake please don't use a Mr. Gasket thermostat use a stant if your not already...make sure your coolant is at a 50/50 mix or a 60/40 (40% coolant)
last but not least if you don't plan on using the A/C just get rid of the condenser and shelf it

the reason why I was asking if the engine has always overheated it could be an inherent problem with that engine and have nothing to do with the cooling system. It'd be a waste of money changing parts if it is the engine

My car has always been overheating ever since I got my new engine. It is just that now with no overdrive and 4.10 gears it gets a little bit hotter then it did before. My engine is perfectly fine other then it gets really hot. It starts and runs perfectly. I had different engine builders tell me engine was fine. No oil leak. No head gasket problem. Just that when I drive it gets super hot! Also on a cool day it never gets above 220 at all.

my first thought would be to check out your thermostat or your fan

I'd be looking at the flow in the rad to make sure the rad isn't clogged up with deposits.

x2 on checking the radiator for flow . . . especially if it is OLD! Clean the fins too.

Also, what radiator are you using? With the Big Block, I hope it's not the stock rad for a V6!
