I always wonder why the sales person back then would not talk people into upgrades like power locks if the buyer wanted power windows, it's even more confusing when someone ordered Monte SS or a GN or a 442 with open end rear when it is obvious the buyer is interested in performance.
The option list on my Monte is kind of odd.It has intermittent wipers, tilt wheel, power windows, remote drivers mirror and it was an AC car.But theres no cruise control or power door locks.
From what I found out from the second owner this car was originally bought by a car rental company in our capital city of Halifax,so it was likely just bought off the lot and not custom ordered.

I was also going to do this when I do my interior refresh, I think I am gonna go with a gunmetal grey though. I'm curious how this will hold up and if the chrome shows through when you hit the switches? Since my car has poppers I can get rid of the power lock parts and relocate the windows there so I can put a speaker in the door card.
I will add on our car, I disassembled all the switches, scuffed each part separately cleaned them, let them dry, then used an adhesion promoter and used a satin black for plastic and then SEM low lustre clear coat until I was happy with the finish. I have more time into painting switches than I would like to admit to but after driving the car a bit and using them they still look great.

I didn't realise that the switches came apart.I do have an old one that I can play with and if it gets messed up it wont bother me at all LOL.
If the paint I used comes off then I will have something to add to next years "To Do" list.

That would also be a good time to clean all of your contacts and power locks especially (which I know you don't have) are notorious for not functioning because of corroded contacts.
