HEY I HAVE A 1984 OLDS 98 REGENCY BROUGHAM. ITS ONLY GO 72,000 ORIGONAL MILES. I HAVE READ A LOT ABOUT OH JUST GET A 350 AND DITCH THE 307. I AM WITH YA ON PROVING THAT THE 307 IS NOT A WORTHLESS BOAT ANCHOR. I AM PLANNING TO DO A FEW THINGS TO MY ENGINE AND THIS POST IS FULL OF GOOD INFO. TALK TO YOU SOON. I HAVE THE OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION. WHAT GEARS SHOULD I GET FOR THE REAR END TO GET POSI AND TO LET THE ENGINE RUN A BIT MORE IN THE HIGHER RPM RANGE. THANKS

LOL....DUDE, there's nothing to prove. People have done it. And you are the only one losing in the end. Cuz you spend all this money on this 307. And I find a 403 throw some enlarge head bolt hole #5 heads on it and I'm probably 50 more hp then you and 1/3 of the cost. That's all we are saying. The heads are the weakest points from as numbers. Nothing interchanges with the 307

That's kewl man, just buy external stuff. Till you can get a good SBO trust me a deal will come around. Like an aftermarket intake, headers, rear ends gears, beef up the transmission. Don't lower your standard just cuz that's all you got right now. Just work around it.

If you have an OD transmission just install some 3:73. And you will think that 307 is really something.

I had a fresh rebuilt 307 with a holley 670, ebrock performer rpm intake, 5A heads, comp cam 268 cam, complete MSD system and, hedman headers. Oh Yeah, it sounds real good and fast. Went and got a chassis dyno 166hp and 200 and something ft lbs of torque. What a joke. If you don't get some better heads and bump the comp. Your in the same boat has me. Lots of money spent and bitter results. I dyno it. I have yet to see anyone else post true results.

:) Get out of here with that 3rd gen f-body. I had that OLDSMOBILE 307 mentioned above in a 86 camaro for about 4 years. Now I don't care for a 3rd gen or a 307
