ok, new question, what do I get one of these distributors for? 1979 cutlass 350?

You can get one off of any non-computer controlled Olds engine. I am pretty sure you will have to play with the advance depending on what size engine it came off of.

Still interested in the carb and ECM?

The ECM was functioning properly when I removed it at 118,000 miles. When I was chasing down some electrical demons when I put my chevy 350 in, I ordered a new ECM just to see if it made things work and if mine was fried. It was $120 for a new one and you just switch in your PROM chip. I sent the new one back and used mine cause it was fine. I'd take $40 for it. I took all the computer related stuff out of my car, and my car is never going back to stock, so I don't need to keep it.

The carburetor was working great, although I should mention that the threads for the fuel inlet stripped out when I was tightening the fuel line. I smeared the threads of the inlet with J.B. weld and wrapped the line fitting with teflon tape and let it sit, and it never leaked, although I don't know if it will be a b*tch to get apart now, but you shouldn't really need to take it off, the fuel filter in there is new...but it is kinda jerry rigged...I'd take $60 for the carb.

Let me know if you're still interested

I already removed all that stuff so for now I'm good, but in the future I will definately be doing this again.
I ordered a distributor for a 79 cutlass with a 350 I just hope the cam gears are the same, if they aren't I will see about swapping them. I also ordered the other coil and the lock up kit. I think that should complete the change over.
I got the tube a arms on today and the new steering box so tomorrow will be road test day for that until the dist. and other parts get here. If I'm wrong about the dist that I ordered feel free to yell at me and tell me what I did wrong.
Thanks.
