Yea your right, I don't know alot about transmissions like I said before. And I'm not doing any of the work myself. I have a professional working for me. I just am trying to figure out different routes to go. I could leave it up to him to decide on the engine,transmission,intake,carb,headers,etc. But I want to have a say in what goes in my car. So don't sit here and talk sh*t because I don't know alot about these things. I didn't ask for your smart *ss opinion. I just asked for simple advice and if you want to be a smartass don't ****ing respond to any of my questions. My main goal is to have a fast *ss cutlass. Yeah and by fast I mean 10 sec 1/4 car. And I'm doing all the research on different colors to do for my interior. But like I said I'm not doing the work. I do have a good job making great money but if you have good connections then it won't take alot of money to build the project I'm trying to build, when I'm done with my cutlass which it will be done in 2 months, you can sit there with your smart *ss while, ME, not knowing a damn thing about cars will have a better car than u could possibly ever have, so suck my dick and shut the **** up

You come here and you get answers to your questions and your a dick when you dont hear the answer you want to hear. I and others answered your questions more than once. What kind of cash is your "pro" wanting for building a 10 second, 150 mph, streetable 350cid chevy, that gets decent mileage, all in 2 months (including paint and interior)????

A stock one won't cut it. Suspension to hook 500 hp? Wheels, tires, brakes? All these things are gonna need parts that have to be ordered.

He wanted the Truth. But he cant handle the truth. In order to get that car in the 10's your looking at around 12-15k doing it yourself. And seeing how you know jack sh*t and cant do jack sh*t on your own I would bet 20-25k easy paying a pro. That being said good luck. The motor in my signature will go 10's on motor once I get a trans that can hold it and I built it myself and have around $5500 in good fordged parts and machine work. I got a price from a shop to build it and was told 9k just for motor. So 2 months to go 10's unless you are sitting on a big bank roll you need to jump off your spaceship and return to Earth.

To me it is amazing how someone can come into one of the friendliest car boards out there and seriously stick his own foot in his mouth in such a short amount of time :shock: Imagine if he went to one of the other boards some of us here are apart of they would have eaten him alive right off the bat. Lucky he got so far here. And it's good to ask questions but it seems that he was not interested at all in doing just a little of his own research, or reading replies to his post all the way through. I mean the overdrive questions was answered many times, but he didn't comprehend at all.
