I'm not raggin' on Chev, happen to like them alot...but the fastest car with the very mild 383 is in a 2450lb car, the 2 Olds' are 3375lb(455) & 3650(350)

so we both like olds and chevy engines! how did you get that malibu so light?

aluminum firewall & floor, swiss cheesed the frame whereever possible, lexan windows, fiberglass bumpers & hood...the way it sits now ya'd have a hard time taking much more weight out of it

I wonder if my stock 87 cutlass brougham has a th200 or th200r4? Because if it has the r4 in it then I will just rebuild it, btw do I have to put a shift kit in the TH200r4 to run 500hp? And I'm thinking about painting my car high gloss black pearl, I can't decide what color interior to do. If anyone has a black paint job, let me see some pics of the car and the interior so I can get some ideas. Right now my interior is a soft blue and I just don't like it.

You will need more than a shift kit for 500hp and 2004r. In my opinion your looking at a good chunk of change. Is your car or a 3 or 4 speed. That would pretty much tell you if you have a 2004r or not.

I have overdrive?????? And what do I have to do to it if I am gonna have 500 hp. And why would I want a 200 4r if I have to spend alot of money to be able to hold 500 hp. I could just get a 350 turbo

the overdrive makes it a bit more streetable if you want to put alot of miles on it. A th350 would work just fine as well you just loose the overdrive
