Opie, Congratulations on the new place! Very happy for you. 3 bay shop! I'm jealous! Congratulations on the successful TH350 rebuild. Nice work! Damn it looks like you drive fast! Better stick with the V6 there hotrod! 😱

Thanks Jared. We've been looking and waiting a long time for the right place to come along within our price range. Apparently people don't build garages around here that often. I saw places that were priced at twice what we gave for this place with no garage and half as much land or less. The places that did have garages were usually only 1 car and the rare 2 car garage. The amount of land, the location outside of town and the garage really sold this place. Plus the roof was replaced about 2 or 3 years ago. It's not perfect but I think my fiance and I can handle fixing the issues it has. I spent tonight wiring up a few outlets that weren't wired exactly correct. The guy didn't wire the grounds up. He ran the wires but didn't connect them to the outlets. Easy fix. Pigtail the ground to the outlet.

I was just driving the way dad taught me to. Lol. I guess the neighbors probably already figured out I'm "that guy". Lol.

Awesome update Opie! 1st time rebuilding a trans, the monte has a new home, that's success there!!! Also, dang you were getting it! Well done!

Thanks Scott. You know how excited I was to get the place and to get the Monte Carlo back on the road in the same weekend. I definitely don't let any grass grow under the wheels! Lol

Damn Opie!

You weren't playin' playa! Big news indeed!
Lol
Seriously tho, a sincere round of congratulations for ya. Successfully rebuilt transmission, your G body back on the road, a brand spanking new place for ya AND with a triple car garage to boot! Like Jared said, I'm envious!

Love the huge back yard, the free sand blaster was a nice bonus, and I was very happy to see you have heat and insulation in there for comfortable wrenching come wintertime. Success all around!

Congrats again my friend, really happy for ya. 🙂

As far as the ride along was concerned, car sounds pretty good... for a V6...
Hahaha

But it looks like someone DEFINITELY needs a console shifter!
😉

Oh, and the video weren't too bad neither! Thanks for that!

D.

Thanks Donovan. Now you see what I was so focused on last night! I finished the install and took it for a test drive to the new house.

My fiance and I had been wanting to move in together for a couple years now. I convinced her we'd be better off waiting till her credit was better and buying a place instead of renting. It's basically the same price except you get to keep the house when you buy it!! Lol. She walked out of the lawyers office after closing Friday with one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen on her beautiful little face! Honestly, it's all because of her that we have the place. She's the one who secured the loan. I'm just helping make the payments and taking care of the place. My garage may be an extra bay wide compared to yours but she's already claimed one of them for her car so I really only have 2 to work with! Lol, I'd be really pleased if I can get my garage to look as good as yours does.on the inside. I love your floor.

I thought the 4.3 sounded alright through the Flowmaster too. Much better than no muffler at all, which was the alternative!

A console shifter would definitely be nice. A ratchet shifter would be really nice. I've got a set of Camaro buckets to go in it. I also want to convert the cluster to gauges and put the Vortec in front of the TH350. I have a gauge cluster that needs refurbishing. All in good time. I'll get it put together when I can.

Thanks for the complement about the video. I figured that since you show off nicer craftsmanship and cooler parts, I could make up for it by driving fast!! Lol.

Man. You got a new place, moving in with your lady, got your car back on the road, the trans you built yourself is a success, the Monte has a garage to sit in and you have two of three bays in a heated, insulated shop that allready has a bench and a blast cabinet! Someone had a good weekend! Congratulations again man.

Thanks man. We're pretty happy with the place and my fiance is happy she doesn't have to watch me mess with that transmission anymore. Lol.

I'll send you a message in just a second.

Typical Car Guy video. Spends 59 seconds showing the garage, car and, oh yah, here's a quick glimpse of the house for 1 second.
j/k - good luck with your new place.
