Took a needed break for a few days and started back at it for a little bit this evening. I scored an awesome deal on a rust free pair of doors down in Louisville KY yesterday. Picked up both doors for $125.00, so these ones will go on my 442 and our test prototypes will go on my 81.

Today I removed the steering column, the exhaust from the manifold and welded in some braces from the A pillar to the B pillar for extra support. Hopefully Saturday it will be up on the Rotisorie

Great work, now you have me motivated to restore my 85 442, except my wallet stops me. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Yes I did speak with Matt in Louisville. Based on what I see on the twirler I will be going to see him again for his back seat floor pan.

Where did you attach the backside of your door brace? Did you just drill a hole?

I just welded it to the body. It can be cut easily enough and sanded down

Well last night I FINALLY got the car on the rotisorie. It is definately alot easier to use this device for removing the frame from the body.

engine and trans pulled

I had to drill another hole location in one of the brackets since the body mounts are not on the same plane

to the front

start lifting up the back end. Also you will notice the drivers side brace from theA to the B is bowed a hair. This confirms what others say about making sure that you brace the car regardless if it is a hard top or not.

I had to get a little creative with the extensions to lift the front end hig enough to get the front end up on the twirler

frame is out!!!

It's pretty cool to flip it on it's side

you can even push it outside so I can CLEAN UP MY MESS

This is what is left of the frame, only good for scrap value

Now the job gets easier
