No more major parts have come in but I the weather has been so damn hot I had zero motivation to get out to the garage and do anything anyways. Puttering around the house and the lean to built off the back of the garage I stumbled across a spare window a/c unit. Already have two in the house, no sense in throwing it away so into the garage window it went!

The garage is a comfy 71° right now so I figured I might as well do something. I grabbed the cylinder head I had been installing the valve springs on, finished lapping the valves and installing the "new" springs. Then came the part no one likes. Cleaning the head up. Took a brass brush, a file, some purple power and the garden hose to it. Made a world of difference. Might hit it one more time and see if I can get the rest off but that was good for tonight. Still have to get two broken bolts out of the exhaust side but I let a coworker borrow my welder. It's much easier welding a nut to them and backing them out vs drilling them. One down, one more to go.

I'm other news I bought a T56! But.... It was for a LT1. Now I knew that when I bought it, but the price was too good to pass up. As soon as I got home, I listed right back on FB marketplace and Craigslist and had it sold for twice what I paid within four days :) With the house build and all the extra expenses, our sons college bill kind of snuck up on us so this helped cover part of it.

Those early LT1 T56's were pretty stout. I believe that they were the same ones that went into the Viper if memory serves me.
Good job!

That one came out of a 94-95 Camaro/Firebird. It was rated at 450lb/ft. Yes not bad. Would've had to use a different clutch and a spacer, on a LS engine, or change the main input shaft. Needed the money more unfortunately. But now that I've finally found a good deal on one, I know they are out there.

Was cruising forums and found where people mention to make sure to check the oil barbell in LS motors. Huh? Never heard of her. Figured out where it was finally, then ordered one off Amazon from ICT Billet. Figure it won't hurt and for $12, how can you go wrong?
