Sure. 12 degrees is really low if you have anything more than a mild cam.

Regardless of what you’re AFR gauge reads, if you smell gas in the exhaust then it’s rich. It can happen with a fair amount of duration, lowidle speed and low timing. An exhaust or intake leak can cause the same. Once the rpms are raised, when cruising or wot driving, a small exhaust leak or intake leak can be overcame by air flow.

Big, heavy turbo exhaust (turbine) wheels cause the same thing. That’s what I’m basing my experience on.
You probably want 22 degrees and idle around 14.0. Offset your injection -40 degrees under 2000 rpm and you wont have fuel smell, also improves fuel economy at low speed.

Had some fun this morning making some paced laps at the local track...Love how the car handles so far, I'm sure things will need to be tuned or changed once I'm actually up to speed though. Definitely need some 4pt belts to keep me in the seats. Which means I need at least a 4pt roll bar.. Ugh, it's never ending.

Couple of other cars that were pretty nice.

Had a chance to throw the car on a dyno for three pulls today. Happy with the result given it hasn't even been tuned. 378hp and 387lbft of torque. I know there is more in this combo, but I'm starting to get beyond my capabilities as far as tuning. Planning on some upgrades this winter anyways 😎

On track day, that pace car was really annoying…

Did GM pay you for the ‘product positioning’?

Oh and just to piss off a select few that hate LS swaps, here's a Buick GS Stage 1 455 that was run after mine. Pay close attention at the end for the dyno numbers. 🤣

And this guy was up just before me. He was NOT happy with his output. Literally had to shut my car off because he was still arguing with the dyno guy. I think he ended up around 217hp.

Nothing better than someone arguing with the dyno operator because their car doesn't make sh*t. I watched a guy with a BBC make 195whp and almost come to blows over it. Also seen the same BS with these Cummins truck dingleberries. I've put my car on the dyno one time, when I started laughing at a Hellcat guy, it almost turned ugly lol.

Something to keep in mind though, that Buick probably runs pretty decent, and yours runs alot better. Congrats Shawn. Where was the dyno at?
