BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

FYI. I paid 300 for Camaro/Brembo calipers and 200 for set of powerstop front rotors
Now you're talkin'! That's reasonable prices afaic. $1200-1400 for junkyard stuff is not.

My son dropped between $300-400 for calipers and caliper brackets, then less than $250 for Powerstop Rotor and pads. Are the Z06 better? Probably, but .....how much, and is it worth the extra? The C5/C6 stuff (non Z06) works from 130-140mph to a stop - you want the seat belt on when getting on them.

I think I'm leaning towards getting a refund from Kore3 and buying the bracket from Bigbrakeupgrade and some used 4 piston Camaro Brembo calipers. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until they open back up after January 22nd.... I just need to verify that they will work with the Vette 14" rotor.

I know a guy that can cut the rotors down for ya if they won't.

I know looks are important to many. If that was my gig, then I'd have a Brembo label visible rather than a 'vette label on my G.

Without making me dig through hundreds of posts/pages, what are you running now? And how are they?

p.s. - you're getting close to approaching Donovan status meaning that I want to dig back through to see what's up 😉

Just checked amazon and ebay. There are a lot of take off calipers like mine or for ctsv that are Brembo. Prices are a little higher than a few years ago but that's the world today

Currently running the Blazer two piston units. So much better than stock. But... between the drum brakes in the back and some, shall we say, spirited driving, I have easily overcome the current braking systems capabilities. Got them hot enough I could smell them. I'm sure part of it was my driving, but I was pushing the car pretty hard on the road course. Hence why I feel I should upgrade them.

Yes, lots of them for $250/pair.

Just catching up on this. I'll add my input for what its worth, here it goes.
I used the LS1 rear calipers, they are apparently the same as the vette in size, but the vette are supposed to be made of a different aluminum (?). For the fronts, using the templates I got online, I had a buddycut me 3 sets of adapters, for the 13", 13.5", and 14" rotors and using the C5 or 6, I can't remember? 2 piston calipers. I run 17" cast wheels and can only fit the 13" rotors with those calipers. I plan on upgrading to 18" wheels so I can swap to a larger rotor in the future. I can say I've whooped on the wagon pretty good and have no complaints with the performance of the current set up.

As has been stated, the vette guys wanna go bigger and better right from the get, so my vette front and rear calipers were take offs from a dude on the vette boards.

Yeah I know honestly mine was partially aesthetics cause I didn't really care for how the other vette calipers looked, I know I got a lot better deal on doing the CTS V1 front calipers on the Blazer which are really good looking 4 piston. Just a quick look on Amazon has them pretty cheap

Sooooo, the CTS V calipers use the same adapter bracket as the vette when going on a Blazer spindle?
