BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

Well, the last 3 days have been above 40° here so much of the snow has melted. Roads were dry for a change, so we ventured to my parents where I store the car for the winter, shoveled their driveway, and drove the car back to our house. Time to get started on this year's round of upgrades/repairs.
I've been collecting parts for a few months now. Hopefully I have most of what I need. Here's the initial list of things I need to do in no particular order.

Tie rear frame rails together
Install shifter boot
Replace carpeting
Install cage
Install 5pt belts
Install rear disc brakes
Install larger front brakes.
Install engine sending units (coolant, oil pressure)
Alignment
Secure battery tray/modify spare tire well
Update tune
Change oil
Fix clutch pedal throw
Install starter heat shield
Balance tires

Along with that list there is an assortment of other things that need to happen but I included them in the above listed operations.
Ordered a couple more items last night, like the carpet and rear brake rotors.
I'm not looking forward to the roll bar Install. I know it's going to be a huge PITA but I need 5 pt belts so there's no way around it. Sometimes you just have to put your big boy pants on and take a bite of the sh*t sandwich LOL

Where's the Nitrous Express box 😉

Just kidding ...... maybe. Gonna run at Cicero? Expect to be done by the end of salt season?

And eagerly watching of course.

No nitrous for me. If I can finish all of these and enjoy the car this season, I'll be looking into other power adders, possibly for the following summer. 😉

Yeah I might try Cicero once, see how bad my reaction times and starting line jitters are 😅

The idea is to be done before Memorial day at the latest. Fingers 🤞

What rollbar did you go with? 4point?

Yes. We'll see how it plays out. I have a feeling I'm going to have to buy new rear down bars. I don't want them straight back, I'd rather they followed the roofline and went the the package tray.

Yeah, I get that. It's not like you're building a stripped down race car-yet. I phrased my question poorly- what brand or sourcing did you use to acquire your roll bar?

Jegs, and it's an Alston Chassis works unit. What I should've done is just order the main hoop, then go buy my own steel for the rear down bars. Oh well, live and learn.

Bought a new tool for the shop. I've been drooling over one of these for quite some time. We owe taxes every year & I had saved money knowing this but the damage wasn't as bad as I thought so the remainder went towards this. Should make working on the car much nicer.

It's the 7,000lb version, so I can put my truck on it to. Still waiting on the hanging brackets and truck adapters to come. Will be nice to store them out of the way on the wall.

A. Be curious what you think about the cage killing you. 😉
B. Had a set of those jacks for months and just started using them, game changer once you force yourself to use them. 😗
