BUILD THREAD Project Olds Cool (Recognition!!)

Great story - but, did you take those pictures with a potato?

Great story - but, did you take those pictures with a potato?

Alright Mike, I’ll bite:
A potato???

I also can’t be held responsible for any of the pics, the GF took the ones of Olds Cool and the G’s around it, and an acquaintance took the rest.

Quite a nice turnout for the show, the 69' Hurst and the black 68' 442 are two of my favorite Oldsmobiles ever. Nice to see a good assortment of G-Bodies showing up as well.

Glad your car made the trip without incident, makes the project that much more fun. Great way to spend a day!

getting out and enjoying the car, that's what it's all about! :friday:

glad a little rain was the only thing you had to worry about!

Hey D,
Thanks for whetting our appetites with some cool car show pics. What a cool variety and turnout of Oldsmobiles. Oldscool is looking good. Nice burnout shot, wildman. 👍
Glad you guys got out there and had a great day.

Thanks very much you guys, for all the positive comments.

Mike, those are both some of my all time favourites ever as well. The only one that would surpass either on my wish list would be the more rare but equally cool ‘68 Hurst Olds with its black and silver paint scheme. Unfortunately there wasn’t one there. Regardless, it was an awesome day.
😊

It is a joke about low quality and out of focus digital pictures... like if you used a potato to take them.

Gotcha man. Like I said, the majority of the pics were taken by an acquaintance of mine who was there, he sent me the pics afterwards as we were forced to leave before I had a chance to take some of my own.

I’ll be sure to let him know his crappy camera is actually a potato.
😆

Donovan, it sounds like a fantastic day was had by you and your GF. Project Olds Cool is a work of art IMHO!

Doug

Doug, thanks very much!
I really appreciate the kind words. It’s nice to hear from you again on this thread, I don’t believe we’ve talked since I was posting over on The Juggernaut’s thread.

I’m extremely glad to hear your recovery is going so well, hang in there sir. I’m rooting for ya!

Absolutely Darin. Things could’ve turned out much worse, that’s for sure. But I was confident in the car as it’s given me no reason to doubt it’s reliability in the time since I got it running on the new engine.
I’d have to start testing it’s long term and distance limits sooner or later, and this was a good trip to try it out on.

Thanks for the comment and support buddy!

It was my pleasure to share our day with all of you Jack. I’m glad you enjoyed the story and the many fine rides that were there.
I can’t take credit for the burnout shots, the gf was behind the lens. Alls I did is what I do best, mash the loud pedal and put on a show. Boys will be boys ya know!

Nice to have you check in on the thread and comment. Thank you!

btw, in the 3rd pic... was that a butless between you and the f-85?
