The factory never did that. They were all shortened by customizers. My dad's uncle did a lot of that sort of thing in the '70s to tri-five 4door cars. This isn't one of his but it gives you an idea. An unfortunate trend that came and went.

Good thing the trend went away cause it looks fricking ridiculous..
What a waste of a good 56 wagon.. 😢
Wtf some people just don't like 4 doors.. go figure. :|

This was PickNPull's 1/2-off sale weekend so I hit 3 yards. I hit Sherwood yesterday. Then the North and South Portland yards today. I grabbed 2 '93 S-10 5-speeds. That was the only year that GM used the WC T-5 in the S-10 and it's a fairly desirable piece to the hotrod crowd. Already had one so this brings my total to 3. Planning to sell 2 and keep 1. I also got an alternator for the S-10 project. And last but not least, I snagged one of the two (the hard to find one) cams needed for the secret cam swap I have planned for my wagon. I'm not keeping any secrets -- they just refer to it as the "secret cam" swap 😉 .

Installed the new fuel pump and wrecking yard alternator. Then I scrubbed the rust off the wheels, stripped and painted the center caps, and cleaned the tires. The it went outside to get washed.

Then drove it to the gas station for some fresh fuel. Runs and drives great!

Cool Deal 8)
I wish they had pick a parts around here.
How do you id the world class t5 from the non wc T5 ?
Do you or any one on here have pics of the difference?

Took it through DEQ on Wednesday and passed with room to spare. Today I pulled the grille and bumpers. Cleaned, sanded and painted the bumpers semi-gloss black then taped off the grille to paint the bowtie red. Then moved the truck to the paint shop so it can wait for my brother to do some buffer magic. Now, we wait.

Gettin shinier!

My brother came over and spent a couple hours last night trying to make it look less like a chalkboard. Sooo much better. Unfortunately the hood and tailgate have thin paint letting the black sealer coat show through. Looks more dramatic with my camera flash than in real life. It's a real shame because it's such a straight little truck. The sides look great! Probably another hour or two of work to do then I can put the grille and bumpers back on.
