I am going to an 87 header panel from an 83 wich I believe are the same as your 81. They are in excellent shape. PM me if you are interested. Here are a few pics just dusty but in mint shape.

If you want new chrome ones they are available from GbodyParts and others, not cheap but very nice I bought a set of black ones for my Regal.

Your originals are vacuum plated which essentially is cost prohibitive to have done. Couple that to the fact the epa has all done all it could under the previous governments to drive chrome platers out of the country... seriously, you could buy another regal for what it'd cost to small batch replate those.

Your choices are

1) win the lottery and replate what you have

2) win a scratch off ticket and find/buy NOS

3) buy used (harder and harder to find)

4) adopt the ttype style where the edges and rims remain chrome plated but the recessed portion of the bucket is painted flat black

5) use paintable chrome, (not rustoleum cheapo kind) which, as a downside, lacks the depth and mirror finish of true chrome, AND can/will chip when on a front facing surface.

Check these guys out https://alsacorp.com/
They sell a quality spray chrome. It's not like that stuff in the autoparts or hardware stores. There will be work involved & won't be quick but follow their directions & you'll have a nice shinny part again. I used to sell their products at the old job.
