I like it! I am not a fan of bright red interior though. I don't think it will be long and that will be the going price for a car like that. I tell people it will take 10 grand to buy my car. So far I have no takers, but that is ok with me.
But, it also means that parts will be skyrocketing, too.

They probably will since there are still a lot of them out there. AND, hopefully, more and more of the repro parts will continue to get designed. I would like some NOS or newly minted repro side marker reflectors in amber...I don't think so but I hope more parts become available like they did with the A bodies

You could cap the hole on a bulbed set. Unless you're going for the 100% original look. They probably will since there are still a lot of them out there. Ford GT was one of those cars. A guy I did some work for in the past got on the waiting list for a 2005. IIRC he paid around $130k for it. According to current values on those, his speculation worked out okay.

Still, the G-body cars cost more than they're worth to fix them up to any level of show-quality. So if you can find one in the low teens that needs little to nothing except a new driver, you're winning. It's hard to know where the lightning is going to strike. This is like the stock market. Even the most experienced don't know when sh*t is going up or down all the time, but sometimes someone lucks out and makes the right move.
Like someone said, this ain't 1990. When used prices for a very decent 70s/80s G-body was just another used car to be had for not a lot of money. Used car prices. I still don't think they're going to command 60's era muscle status though. That was a special time for cars for whatever reason.
I think this car may be 30-40% higher in price than what it likely would be worth to me. But that's just my evaluation on what is in the pictures. It may be worth it to the owner, but it doesn't float my boat enough to shell out any more than 6K or so.
Today, a car I think that MIGHT be a future collectible is the 2014/15 Camaro Z/28. Only 1,807 total made in 2014 (515)/2015 (1,292). A lot of delaerships put a premium markup on the cars, until they started sitting in the showrooms. Not that they couldn't sell them, they just couldn't sell them at 100k. So the discounts started, and now you can pick up a used one for "comparatively reasonable" cost. Sure, still a lot of money since they went for around 72K sticker, but it's a specialty car that they didn't make a lot of and they will outhandle just about anything on the street plus have 505 HP. Way more than enough to get out of its own way. You can find them sometimes less than 40K now with 1K miles on them or less. They are NOT good daily drivers, and NOT forgiving on city streets. They were built really for one purpose- track days. I think right now, they wannabe deep pocket people don't think spending 40K for a used car that literally rides like a little red wagon on a busted sidewalk is worth it at this point. I still believe the car will see its niche place in the future, as long as fossil fuels are still around. Oh, and with the Z/28 the 427 is under the hood, not in the trunk! 🙂
Maybe the Demon and Hellcats, too. But I'm not a Mopar fan.
