Seeing you rebuilt the engine was the front cam bearing clocked properly and did you install the right cam - cam bearing combo(oil groove)
I bought it rebuilt from a shop, and I have very little faith that everything was well taken care of. When I replaced the cam I didn't even know the front oiling journal existed so I didn't check it, or at least I don't remember checking it. I've set the lashing at least 4 times and it still ticks. It's ticked/rattled ever since I put it in the car. First I replaced the rocker assemblies on both sides, then I bought a matching set of push rods to replace the random assortment the shop put in, then the cam got damaged (further?) when I tried playing with an adjustable pushrod for the first time. When I took apart the top end I found not only the bad cam lobe but also some bad lifters, so those also got replaced. So essentially everything aside from the valves and springs are brand new and adjusted to spec. And I'm told the springs were new during the rebuild but I can't fully trust the shop.

Curious as to how your setting valve lash - oiling to the drivers side comes from the front cam bearing. I'm guessing something isn't right with the cam bearing clocking - and or the camshaft/camshaft bearing oil groove.

I'm doing it with adjustable pushrods since the Buick rockers are shaft-mounted. I too am suspicious of the camshaft bearing oiling groove. I need to take the time to research it. I only read about that oiling passage in an article months after changing the cam.

Do you flip cars often? Seems like you're always finding a new one.

i have an eye on how to trick them out to where it will attract 1 out of a-mili and if i have to sell the regal to jump on this one i will. im the kind of guy to sell blood to a lady in her monthly cycle! lol

I think if you can fix the noisy valve train issue you can add quite a bit to the price, but like others have said as is now people looking at it will consider it a roller needing an engine.
