If you're going to be increasing the valve lift much over .480", then your machinist needs to know that so that he can get correct springs and retainers, and also cut the guides down for proper seal clearance. But I'm with Texas82GP, working your heads has a lot of potential to be just as expensive as picking up a new set. If your machine shop is worth a poop, then you should be able to mention this to them and they'll take a quick look and let you know. They'll be looking in the crack prone area on the deck surface, checking for flatness, and knocking out a couple of valves to check the valve stem to guide clearance. If they are decent, they won't charge you to tell you about them.

I pulled the pan off the other day and found the oil pimp filter was clogged a good bit and there were some metal shavings in the bottom of the pain and in the crap in the oil filter when I scraped the crud out of it... since I didn't know what to do at that point I just put the cover back on... I haven't had time to call any shops this week but plan to do it Monday after the kids are at school....I may have to save all winter for the parts and service but I WILL have this car on the road before march... also I recently found a bunch of rust in the floor pans of the car... after I get the motor and trans out Im going to take the front seat and carpet out to see how bad it is....
