Ron Memmer of Ron's Classic Cutlass in Monticello, Indiana recent came to look at some new old stock parts I had. He spent a lot of time telling me that he was one of the leading experts on Olds Cutlass 442 NOS parts values, and I could trust what he told me. He wrote down his opinion of retail prices of all the parts I had: 1971 442 NOS ram Air hood: $5,000-$6000; 1971 442 NOS rear bumper, still in plastic: $1000-1200; 1971 NOS 442 grill, still in box: $600. He looked at the 1971 442 NOS still boxed sport steering wheel. He said he needed it to complete a restoration he was doing. He then wrote the retail price for the steering wheel: $400-$500. The next day I spoke to a guy in Chicago. Ron Memmer had just offered the steering wheel for $1500! What happened to needing for his restoration? And to $400-$500 retail? I called Ron Memmer and he said"yes, he had seen the same type steering wheel go recently for $2,000 "if you can afford to wait up to a year to sell it". I feel cheated. Any suggestions?

That is problem, he is a business man and will turn a profit when he can. The rest look in line, I thought the steering wheel sounded low compared to the rest, now we know why, he needed it and wanted to make dollars. Really think hard about selling any of those parts.

I think the hood is worth more also I know what my brother paie for one after his garage burned down with his in it but that's all A-Body what G-BODY do you have? Us G-people are less about numbers and more about enjoyment

Don't you guys remember the guy with the 12 bolt about a month ago that informed us that 68-72s were G bodies?

I had a guy who was a fellow member on the Buick GS site. Whenever I had parts he needed, I gave him a break as he was a member. When I asked for one item I needed for my GS, he charged me full price. Not a good way to do business and I never sold to him again, even at full price. Eventually I actually left the site because it just left a bad feeling with me.

If someone gives me hundreds of dollars more for something than I paid for it, then sells it for thousands more to somebody else, I don't feel cheated and I move on with my life.

We sold a '69 AMX for $45K (we paid $23K) and the new owner sold it on Ebay for $130K. I was totally fine with it. I wasn't fine with it when the guy who paid $130K for it said the title was still in my name and could I sign it over to him

We told that guy, no we won't commit tax fraud and FO for even suggesting it and go take it up with the guy you bought it from.

If you don't like the price someone is offering, don't sell.
