Cutting the roof won't cause any structural damage. T-tops only have a center channel which won't keep the car together if that was it's purpose. I think the rear fender openings were either damaged from the tires or the fenders were modified with a sledge hammer
There are many aspects to the classic car buffs this being one of them. No matter what you do to your car there are going to critics. Our cars cover anything from concourse cars to rat rods. I even get crap about mine being a race car. I defiantly don't like what some people do but they are the artist of their creation. We all seem to come together for cruises and I try to appreciate what people have done.
That is why the T-top cars are weaker and flex worse than solid top cars. It is why they still had a center section and did not have the whole roof being removeable like the donk guy. However stock T-tops do not have extra stress induced by donk wheels. It is bad and unsafe engineering with that donk. The guy altered his car with whatever looks cool with zero regard for structural integrity of safety. It is a rolling death trap, only a matter of time till something fails and it crashes.
Can you post the structural engineering degree you have and post the link to the testing you have done.
