the only reason i could see this being worth it, is the roof, even then its still a mess

Ugh thats a mess. If you really want a project go ahead. Or else strip it for what parts are good. If you do fix it up Id leave the vinyl top on because where that is rusted through at would be hard to make it ever look straight again.

truthfully, i have seen better at the junkyard

I would get a better shell. Even if you had to ship a nice G body cross country it would still end up costing you less money in the long run than fixing that mess. Between the body and interior you are looking at thousands of dollars to get it cosmetically right-and then you will need to do the mechanicals too. It's not a particularly rare or valuable model, so unless it has some sort of special sentimental value to you , get a better car to start with.

Thanks for the advice. I am o.k. at body work. I used to work for a body shop. I can't weld yet, but I have seen my former employer fix some pretty messed up vehicles. Some were totaled and some had even been flipped over. We even built a 70 camaro with a 468 in it. Im in one of those situations were I can only afford to take a little money at a time and put it toward a project here and there. By the time I save a couple of thousand for a decent cutlass with tops, It will have been sold or price may go up on them. Believe it or not thosew G-bogys are making a pretty good comeback. I have another 1984 cutlass that running and just needs paint. Like I said, Its all about the tops! 🙂

Is a black car faded grey or a grey car gone black in spots ???!?!

Looks like a burn victim

It is white but faded. It has seen the wrath of sitting under a pine tree for several years.. About a month or two before I bought it, someone stole the tops out of it. I found a set for 25.00. I just got to ressurrect her. I can't give up. I a true olds fan!. 😀

save yourself the hassle. Tell the guy if he gives you $250.00 you will take it away and strip it for what its worth and scrap the rest.

It's a donor car at best. T-Roof cars were bad for rotting out the A-pillar and floors to begin with and you want to buy one that has had the roof sections missing for months.....
