SBC ENGINE CLAMSHELL MOUNTS are they the same for a g body and a c 10 truck, if not whats the difference, the ones that bolts to the undersides of the engine block?
Not really. These are set up by the geometry of how the crossmember, rubber mounts, metal shells, as mounted engine height & mounted accesories all work together. The rubber mounts need to have a specific shell to work with where the engineers figured where they would best sit. If the crossmember was wider, taller ones would be needed. The p/n for the needed shells didn't show up in any other GM catalog other than those which had the models listed in my earlier posting. I'm not going to say one couldn't make taller ones work but there will most likely have other things that will need to be adjusted or modified to ensure everything clears & functions. So will truck mounts work in a car and if so will the engine sit higher with truck mounts if so how much higher?
