Truck mounts are about 1/2" longer from the bolt hole to the block mounting surface.

Left to right.
UMI car bracket. Factory car bracket. Truck bracket.

They are the same for '73-'77 A bodies. Think '77-'90 B bodies too but would need to double check the big book.

In the catalog it's p/n 334970 (not the same number stamped on it, 334971). List as the following:
'73-'77 A w/ SBC
'78-'88 A/G w/ SBC
'75-'79 X w/ SBC
'82-'91 F w/ SBC, LH only
'77-'90 B w/ SBC
'91-'96 B w/ gen 2 SBC

There is no other p/n's or applications that would cross for our cars. Not even the '73-'75 A w/ BBC p/n would cross over.

So will truck mounts work in a car and if so will the engine sit higher with truck mounts if so how much higher?
Not really. These are set up by the geometry of how the crossmember, rubber mounts, metal shells, as mounted engine height & mounted accesories all work together. The rubber mounts need to have a specific shell to work with where the engineers figured where they would best sit. If the crossmember was wider, taller ones would be needed. The p/n for the needed shells didn't show up in any other GM catalog other than those which had the models listed in my earlier posting. I'm not going to say one couldn't make taller ones work but there will most likely have other things that will need to be adjusted or modified to ensure everything clears & functions.
