My Harwood was ordered by a local speed shop that is now out of business, it saved me the shipping cost plus I got to look it over good before I paid for it.

Just a few scoops - with the power to back it up:

When I need glass work done and I don't want to do it myself I use a guy at a local boat place. A lot of them have a glass guy that only does that and there usually pretty good he dose stuff cheep for me my brother and the body shop I work for because it's something different for him. Just a thaught

What about working in a Fox body Mustang cowl hood scoop. My one buddy got one for his '84 GT when he had it about 18 years ago. They are wider than a GM cowl hood & might blend with the stock hood lines. Those should be in 6" too.

Any updates or new ideas? Im really interested to see what you end up doing.

Just reading this for the first time.
Would it be a possible option for you to use a carb hat connecting to 1 or 2 tubes using cone filters? That would be my first thought if some sort of a carb hat would clear. If it's possible, that would save replacing or chopping up a good painted hood.

For someone like myself that can do fiberglass work, the sides of the cowl could be slit & raised up to a taller height.

Doesn't flow well enough for his (or even most) application. Air converging in a hat from two tubes creates a tonne of turbulence which is really bad for a carb. That dual air filter crap that Spectre sells is not conducive to a performance application - parade ground trolling show cars only.
