The air pan is removed and won't work with the new engine anyways since the carb will sit even higher. I was already 1/2" higher than when I first made the air pan since I added the nitrous plate after.Any way to use a panel filter in the pan inlet?
The seller does ship these. But they are absolute garbage. My dad bought one of their 4"cowl hoods for a 80 malibu. Fit was worse i have seen. Pinned the wiper arms to the cowl. One side was 2 times thicker then the other. My dad ended uo cutting the hood up and grafting the scoop onto the original hood. The seller no longer shows up to the local swap anymore either. Ebay reveiws also speek volumes.
I always questioned the quality of bolt on hoods that sell for less than others lift off versionsThe seller does ship these. But they are absolute garbage.
I don't want just a hole in a 4" cowl with an air cleaner sticking out.
If I was going to cut the scoop and raise it then my best bet would be replacing the entire scoop with a 6" cowl like motorheadmike suggested and since I need the height dropping the front to make a ram air wouldn't help me.What about modifying the scoop you have now? Either cut the cowl scoop and make it taller or cut the center out and drop the front down for an exposed air cleaner look something custom with attention to detail like the rest of the car sure it's more work but dam look at the rest of the car
