It's true that silver doesn't look good on just any car. Early European sports cars used pretty simple colors, for the most part...reds, whites, blues, etc.

Even Austin-Healeys didn't use elaborate colors. I can recall white, red, British racing green, black, and a light metallic blue, kinda of an ice blue that was popular on those cars.
I had a friend with a tan Austin-Healey 3000. It was actually two -tone tan and brown....but of course it wasn't the original color(s). It was an ivory white originally.

Another color that was a long shot choice was champagne gold. I'm not a huge fan of gold, but some champagne/platinum colors are kinda nice.

Ed, I would do the Anvil all the way.

I too ended up changing my mind on the color of my wagon as I have been working on it, and I already had the jabs and hinges painted.

White is super boring for me on a long roof.

You should have made a spot for "Other". Im going with the original color on my 83. But I have thought about changing the color. For me its purely a cost issue. If I could afford a more expensive job my car would be a two tone silver/darker grey top. Right now the color is Grey fern. Interior is the same but I know that I can change that without too much work.

If youre going to have the interior out when it gets painted why not redo the color of it so it would look better with any color you do the body ? Just a thought.

Thanks guys

I am waiting for Ben he said to give him a few days and he would overlay Anvil on the rendering so once he has a chance to do that it should help me with my decision. The painter did a spray out for me also I have to stop down there and check it out.

As far as changing the color on the interior I really like the blue interior, if I was going to convert it I would probably go to a GN style black/gray but having owed a GN for 13 years I like that the blue is different, I like the bench seat and as a plus I can hop in it from work with dirty clothes and the blue vinyl does not care and its easy to keep clean unlike the tan interior in my T-Type 🙁

I hope you can get it on the road this year. I'd love to cruise my wagon by and check yours out once you get it home.

Keep us posted on your decision Ed.

I'm shooting for having it painted and the body assembled this year, we have a baby on the way at the end of March so I will probably not finish the car anytime this year. Right now my goal is to get it painted and to the house so me and my daughter can chip away at some things, shes 5 now and loves tools and helping me but at the moment I have nothing to work on. When I get the car back I'll probably take my time and let her help me with things I am in no hurry at this point and she wants to help and learn. It should be fun...

I'll post up on my decision once its made and I'll keep up with the photo's as well. Cant wait to see yours finished you can come by any time!

That would be nice to have it together I am sure. Congrats and good luck with the new addition to the family. Start em young!

When I get mine in paint and all the glass and weatherstripping in, I'll certainly be driving it. The interior may wait till the fall. I am unsure. But I'd love to swing by.

Picked up the spray out, this is one spray out. Lighter is how it looks in the sun, darker is how it looks out of the sun. I've been staring at the spray out for 2 days off and on it looks light gray, dark gray, and blue depending on what light its in.

I'll pass, I drove with a primed car for two summers cause I couldn't figure out which color

My paint (white) is cracking and peeling from too much sun, and I can't figure out what primer to use.
