Ok i have a harness which is a standard s792, the color of the wires are red and yellow. Now the harness plugs right into the cs alt and i know that my orig. si plug goes into the harness, and the small red wire screws back onto the new cs alt. and thats it or do i have to mess with some kind of resistor because my car has the light and not a volt guage?

You can find pics of how to do it all over. It's not complicated, just tie the original brown wire into the wire that plugs into the CS alternator.

The red wire isn't always present on the CS plug, just an FYI.

Should be fine either way, the volt gauge gets its reading from power to the cluster harness. The lamp provides the resistance you will need, only reason you would need that resistor would be if you weren't wiring to the original "charge" lamp that's in the dash (which is what I did).
