SPARK PLUGS - What brand and type?

Well my mechanic will do the work for me. Because I don't think I could easily replace #6 plug, the one under the A/C by fire wall. I just need to know which plug to buy... The Conventional or Rapid Fire. I assume Conventional. Last time I replaced these plugs was around 8+ years ago...

if your mechanic can change that plug so can you and the money you will save will buy the tools you need and take you to a movie

I've ran AC Delco plugs in every GM vehicle I've owned. Never a problem. That's what it was designed for. Good old copper plugs will last a while. 8 years is a good run.

I agree with pontiacgp, get a few tools and do the plug replacement at home. Save some cash and know it's done right. Plus you can make sure all plugs are gapped correctly. To this day I have never bought a set of plugs that were all gapped the same.

I'd go old school ACDelco with the green stripes. Made in USA and you know they're right for your car. $16.83 to your house.

I just put a set of green stripe AC Delco plugs like those in a olds 350. Runs nice.

OK you convinced me. I hope I get them by Tuesday. I told my mechanic Tuesday or Wednesday to replace them... LOL I have all the tools to put them in but to me time is money. I don't have time to look through all the crates containers and tool chest. I am trying to sell $80,000 worth of Snapon MAC, Proto, some Crafstman but mostly Snapon made from the 1940's - 1960's all Made in U.S.A.

I lucked into a nice lot deal on some NOS ones back in the late '90's. Was years before I had to buy another plug but missed the quality after my stock ran out.

I guess it is time to change them just realized I still have the factory plugs in there 40 years old probably seized in the oh crap
Plugs are probably something you won't have to change TOO much anymore on G-bodies that don't see daily use. I overcompensated and got old school green striped plugs up the wazoo. Years ago I found a NAPA store giant moving sale and stocked the f*** up. 18 sets of R46SX and 13 sets of FR3LS6 for the 84, 85 and 87 VIN 9 respectively.

The R46SX got changed to an R46SZ later on because the giant gaps the SX's had were exhibiting HEI issues/failures. So the SZ's shortened the gap. I just regapped the SX's to .040 and let her fly. No issues from that.

To which, R46SX is what came in your 442 350 when new I believe.
