Which way do you bend the P-brake? To the right?

Yeah, might be able to bend it up or in, not sure. But the Guy I talked to just bent it to the right about an inch and a half.

I did mine with the original kick panels ,I just dyed the grills to match. The E-brake just clears the face of the speaker.

That's what I'm gonna do.. Wat size speakers did you use?

I had Qlogic kick panels in the 442 with Boston Pro Series component set installed. Sounded good, and imaging was decent considering they were mass-produced. But if you are comparing to bolting speakers to a factory kick panel, the sound would be day and night. The factory kick panel will aim the speakers at your freaking ankles, making decent speakers a waste. If you are just looking for an inexpensive upgrade from factory, I guess that idea would work. But I have seen the kick panels on ebay for $40.

As for the parking brake question, I threw an adjustable wrench on it and tweaked it an inch or so inboard (right when facing forward). It was no big deal at all.

For the computer, my panels came with a tray to relocate the computer under the glovebox. It was hidden and all wiring would reach to this location. So I would say it was an easy install.

I sold the panels and speakers about 6 years ago to help fund the last few months of college. Once I start putting the car back together, I will probably go back the same route.

Dude you are thinking to hard. In a Camino you could put the speakers in your lunch box on the seat next to you and it would sound good. Not much space to fill with sound. 🙂 Not much imaging to think about :?: My ankles hear just fine.
I even put the same speakers in the panel behind the seats. Right under the rear window. 😛

LOL!!! I see your point of view. In a Camino I would partially agree with you, but the OP has a Malibu. Gbodies, believe it or not, are a preferred vehicle for audio systems. There are tons of USACi competitors using Gbodies. Now I understand that the OP's question wasn't asked due to asperations of competitive car audio, but my opinion is still valid. I am a frugal person at heart, but if I can spend a little extra to get the most out of an investment I will usually do so if it makes sense. I completely understand if you don't agree, but it makes sense to me.

BTW, your kick panels look clean, and if the sound is good who cares what I think. I just know what I experienced in my own car and what I was looking for. You could actually take the total investment of speakers and shift a portion of that money into the kick panels and use cheaper speakers and get a BETTER sound. At least in my own car with my ears that is the result I got.

One last comment: A piece of plywood, a teeshirt, and some fiberglass and you have some kick panels. Its a weekend project and really cheap. If anyone wants to try it, I can give some basic tips.
