Well guy's I took a day off of from the salt mines today to spend some time with the kids. That didn't exactly go as planned Lexi all ready had plans so Lauren being Lauren wanted to do whatever I wanted to do. So off we went in the truck this morning hitting back roads to the steel supplier where I picked up a 4x8 sheet of #9 expanded steel for the blasting rig. Then we went to a western plow store and picked up a new cutting edge for the plow and the new bolts washers and nuts to hold it on. I think the main point of the day was family time so we went to a little pastrami place for lunch. I got the biggest Ruben I've ever seen Lauren got a cheese burger.....I'm paying for it and she's not. I guess we can learn something from our kids. Lol

That's what it's all about, bro. I got a call today about plowing today after being off 3-4 years. I kinda miss it (& the moolah).
That's how they pull us back in lol I'm just concerned this thing isn't going to stay together plowing for days without stoping.....and I still have no gas gauge

Time for the 100gal, auxiliary bed tank! Plow forever!

Small update tonight (keep in mind it's 40° and raining like a monsoon and blowing out of the northeast) after work in the dark the kid from work Brian came over and we used his lifted short bed Doge (the Tonka toy) to drage my plow out from the blaster where it's been buried since I took it off to put the truck on the road. Tomorrow morning after I flush the cooling system again. I'm starting on getting it ready for winter. Not shore how happy I am about that but it is still progress. Also I was talking to my Mac dealer today he was an automotive electronics and mechanic guy before he started selling tools. Anyhow he offered to help me get the spaghetti on this pigs squared away. He even said we can do it at his shop. So that's pretty awesome if you ask me of course I'm a body man and he is building a car for dragweek so I'm shore there is a catch but I really don't care.

Didn't get as much done as I wanted to but progress none the less. Moved trailers in the morning and put the plow on

once I got it in the driveway I cut all the bolts off the cutting edge so I could replace it.

The last owner wore it down past the bottom of the plow but I didn't think it warranted welding a new bottom on so I just replaced the cutting edge. The plow it's self I had picked up used and in my opinion was to small for a dually with such a long wheel base 8' may sound big but when it's angled and your going around a turn the outside rear tires are potting snow where you all ready plowed. So on to the next thing I did today

For the road plowing I do it should work out good for me just a little concerned about the rubber cutting edges on curb lines but I'll be careful. First thing tomorrow I'll wire in the antique lights there just bolted on there now to see how they're going to look. I really like the old round lights on the newre unimount I think they match the Style of the truck. I also flushed out the mud from the cooling system again and filled it with antifreeze it still looks like mud but at least it won't freeze now.
So tomorrow morning I'll be back at it macking lights work bolth on the plow and the truck.

How many times have you flushed the cooling system? Just using water or a purpose made system cleaner? Are you running coolant after each time you flushed it or just water?
Sorry for the rash of questions Clutch, just wondering.

4 or 5 times differently each time when I did the water pump I flushed out the block with the garden hose and what looked like thick mud came out. I've never had a cooling system this nasty. I wanted to pull the block plugs at the bottom of the water jackets out to flush around the cylinders but I couldn't get them out.
