Now there's a term I haven't heard in forever, the "chase truck" . I recall multiple instances watching multiple chase trucks show up at the same incident arguing who got there first. Ah, the Bronx.

My Uncle had a shop on rt3 in Rutherford before he moved to pa he used to tell me story's about wreckers all hoped up! He ran 409s and built-up 327s and kept precut flywheels and pressure plates on the shelf for quick fixes and every tow was a flat out street race! Lol got to love it. The fleet in pa was always 8-10 trucks I think 2 had small blocks the rest were all bbc and ran good! I guess the hot rod wrecker idea never really got away from him

Even better were he moved to in pa it's kinda small town living. When I worked for him I would get a call go and be loading the car before the cop showed up lol they don't like that!

Well he started the shop in pa in 68 so when he was a wreck chaser it was still phone dispatch when it went radio it went insane

ok ok here she is in all her glory, my Plow truck,it was my tow truck when i had my biz, Auto Repair shop, but retired it in about 1997, even tho i ran my business till 2005. now it just sits and rots, and i just plow my property with it now.

I read you guys talking about chase trucks, my Dad had a towing business in Yonkers in the 70's, He had a chaser truck in his fleet too, his wasnt hopped up but ive seen some that were, including one time when i was younger sitting at a light in Mt Vernon, this Hot Rodded chase truck comes haulin azz thru the intersection takin the corner with tires squealing, and off flys a tool box he musta had on the back of the truck, with a big crash. but he never stopped! i did, i gathered up all that stuff, still have some of those tools! hah
