It was no screamer but had decent low and strong midrange power. It was all done at around 4500rpm -- which shouldn't be a problem for you. Got great gas mileage.

We have used RV cams in several engines. They work better in trucks that lack the gears. Beings you have steep gears I would go with a higher rpm cam. If money allows I would put some Vortex or hot 305 heads on with a stiffer valve spring. This is why I don't use the old trucks much any more. Good luck

A head swap is not an option at the moment I wish it was but I'm down on cash do to my recent bisness investments. Besides I hope to go with a much bigger motor unfortunately I don't have one ready to go at the moment or the money to get one ready

I've been looking around and I think I'm going Edelbrock Performer Plus it's power range is idle to 5500 with a Edelbrock Performer intake manifold witch is what I have and it's a fairly cheap cam well the knockoff equivalent anyway

Cheapest crate motor+turbo= highway glory!

Are sure just the cam wiped? I'd be more worried as to why.....
Well I'm guessing it goes back to all the half *ss work the previous owner did and I'm guessing it was probably not broken in correctly
