Starter problem

Ok on my car the negative battery post has a big wire going to the alternator bracket and a small one to the body is that right? Or should it be different

That is the way it is from factory. I have upgraded the grounds to the body, engine and frame since GM seemed think grounds weren't really important

Is that a difficult upgrade to do?

it's an easy upgrade, from the battery you can use a larger gauge wire going to the body and I would also ground the frame. I have my battery in the trunk so I have the body grounded with 8 gauge in the truck and another 8 gauge down to the frame. In the front I have an 8 gauge from the frame to the body and a 4 gauge from the frame to the engine.

I have added many grounds to my Monte which also has the battery in the trunk, most of mine I made out of welding cable as large as 1/0 and I bought ends and crimped them on, a very simple procedure.

Ok so I used my multimeter today and found I had good grounds but I did a test and put one probe of the multimeter the the negative battery terminal and the other on the always hot post of the starter and got less than 1 volt any ideas on that?

Seems like it would have to be a bad positive battery cable.

If your engine was siezed there would at least be a click when the starter drive engaged the flywheel. You have +12V on the "S" wire when the key is turned all the way to start?
