static drop - gotta make some skid plates

The control arms have nothing to do with the ride height

Your only options to lower the rear any further would be to swap the springs again or to install air bags

Well, I might have to drop the springs some more, if that's the only way. :/

They are pigtail springs. How would I retain them in the spring pockets if I cut them more? I'm nervous if I cut the springs any more they will fall out during "spirited" driving.

Thanks for all the info guys.

You can use the upper spring isolators for a fbody to keep them in. The part number is 10280379 but i got mine from the junkyard for 5 bucks. I used some when i installed some fbody drop springs on my car.

I cut and zip tied the original isolators to the spring(to make them conform to the larger diameter). The f-body isolators would be better.
You can also use a large hose clamp to secure the spring to the mount on the differential to help keep them in there. If I cut anymore off mine, I will secure it somehow.

Do you have a picture of this? I'm having a hard time understanding what you are explaining.

if I were you I'd be checking the travel of the lower front control arm. With the short springs your talking about the lower arm will most likely hit the frame when cornering.

Okay, thanks. I'll check that out. Haven't had any problems with 2" springs, but I will check clearance tonight. Thanks bro.

I think I misread your posts, I thought you said you had 2" lowering springs and you wanted to drop it a further 1 - 1.5"....if you have 2" drop spindles the 1.5" lowering spring won't cause the lower control arm to hit the frame. When we raced metrics we could not run drop spindles. We tried running the car with a 6" frame height but the lower arm would hit the frame causing the car to head towards the fence in the corner

and to keep the rear springs in place tie the axle to the upper frame with a steel rope.....we used chains on our race car but I don't think you want to hear the chains rattling around on a street car...

Yeah. 2" lowering springs in the _back_ and I want to spring it down another 1-1.5 🙂 2" drop spindles up front with 1.5" lowering springs is what i'm looking for. And defs don't want to hear chains rattling.

Thanks

The original isolators are the diameter of the small pigtail. After I cut the top of the spring, i cut a slit in the isolator, and zip tied it to the spring to make it match the new, larger diameter of the top of the spring. I will try and get some pics tonight.
