Steering geometry & parts issues

Just got my new AC Delco center link . It measures the same as what's currently in there so I'm not going to even bother changing it out. Guess I'm going to order a different pitman arm and see how that works. Grrrrrr.

Ever thought about Rack and Pinion your frame off is a perfect time...

I have never seen a power rack and pinion kit for a gbody, only manual for drag racing.who makes it?

But you can't just order pitman arms. They aren't a wear item so they don't make them anymore.... ugh. When I bought the steering box I couldn't get the center link off the pitman arm in the junk yard so instead I removed the pitman arm from the box. Then realized the arms were different from the old round top boxes to the square tops. Only place I could find a pitman arm was speedway motors and they are cleaned up used units. They only offer a single choice for g-bodies....
Yes you can south west speed makes them I bought one for my frame off I did on my Cutlass

Mine is a 97 Dodge Dakota rack, I welded some 1.5" .375 wall DOM tubing through the engine cradle for a solid mounting point, you can use the GM power steering pump no problem.. roughly 400 bucks in parts including end links and u-joints for the steering column.

Looks good. No offense but I've dropped a lot of $ on proven parts, I'm not going to guess and hope that something works. I've gone that route before. Now I'm trying to do it the best way I can and finally be done with it.

I totally understand seeing a path you have started through to the end, good luck..!🙂

I can't decide which I like better: the immaculate chassis, or the immaculate shop floor!
What is the source for your steering box?

Thanks, did them both myself

I bought the box from borgeson a few years ago, it’s the 670 with 12:1 ratio and I can’t remember the part number. They don’t have it in the catalog anymore, and the places that do carry the 670 boxes want double, or more, what I paid. Supposedly they’re the cats meow, we’ll see.

So I'm in the middle of a frame off and someone noticed my center link isn't perpendicular to the frame and it's supposed to be. The problem is that every single part has been replaced so where do I start? It seems like the pitman arm is too long but from the measurements I can find online, the center to center distance should be 6.5" and it is. That really only leaves the center link which I ordered for a g body... I'm stumped. Anyone have any great ideas?
I guess I'm dumb, or ignorant or both. I don't see anything obviously wrong in your picture.
