Old thread.....what is the part called on car-part.com? You would think they would have something called steering shaft but no go. Steering coupler yields no results

It's often referred to as an intermediate (steering) shaft. LKQ has them listed as a steering coupler.

Btw, Car-part.com has them listed as a steering coupler. What vehicle are you searching under?

I act
84-96 cherokee... is it regular or grand cherokee?
I actually searched under Chevy Astro van. I had used a regular Jeep Cherokee shaft between '90-'96. Some guys claim that the Grand Cherokee shafts are a better part. I can't vouch for that either way.
However, I do like the Astro/ Safari shafts, aside from having to re-clock them 90 degrees.

I used this part on mine, from an 84-94 Cherokee XJ. Jeep Steering Shaft

Oldsmobile joe, I've never heard of anyone needing a front end alignment and swapping steering shafts..
Maybe I wasn't clear in my post, Mc87ss reclocked the shafts himself so you can just bolt them on. I was just letting guys know that the Astro van shaft needs to be reclocked just in case they want to go to the yards and pick one themselves....timo22[/QUOT

considering this upgrade is their a post or site to contact mc87ss
