Funny but I don't even know what is in my SS but it thumps pretty good.

From what I can see it has 4 - 10's + 4- 8's in the trunk, tweeters in the dash, and little wee speakers ( capped hi's from what I can see ) hidden in the vents far right and left on the dash. The guy I bought the car from said he spent $6000.00 on the stereo about 5 years ago.

I would have been happy with some speakers in the dash and some 6x9's in the trunk.

In my old cutlass I always wanted to put 6x9's in the rear panel above the armrests

^^^ need pics.... i dont have my system installed yet, but im going with 3.5 Alpines in the front and 4x10 alpines in the back with a Pioneer AVIC-N1 in dash, 10" Kicker L7, Alpine MRP-M850 for the sub and MRP-M240 for the components. should go pretty good.

i wish any one of the g bodys i have owned came with as much as a radio let alone a system, lol. seems like everyone saves the radios out of old cars like they are worth something. i honestly wish i could get one that has not had the harness snipped off on it! who doesw that crap, i would like to snip their balls off!

I gave up on the big systems. I used to run competition systems that I designed and built myself, but after having the second one stolen I just gave up.

Now it's just a Pioneer Premiere head unit with 400W running to Pioneer speakers in the stock locations.

That's what I thought too. The second system was taken in broad daylight, alarm screaming away and nobody saw a thing.

10K worth of equipment gone. 🙁

Nobody pays attention to alarms anymore. Mine went off during a Thunderstorm at about 2am one night and I remember curing that car alarm blaring until I realized it was mine! 😳

i have pager alarms on everyone of the 5 cars i own! atleast then i know its going off. i also make sure i strap my radios in, my amps get mounted to a board with headless bolts and those locking nuts with the nylon ring in them so you have to have a wrench. you can either bolt the subs in or you can use a chain but i dont do that because my boxes are always huge and heavy so good luck to them. oh also a important one, shave your trunk lock and very very very most important DO NOT SHOW IT OFF! i wont even turn mine up in or near my neighborhood and i developed a habbit when i was young to always watch for people following me for more reasons then that. park in areas that are well visible and always take your face plate off. these are a few ideas that i do with my cars even if they dont have stereos in them.

Maybe I'm lucky. I have systems in all the cars I drive on a regular basis and no one has ever broken in to them. I have no alarm either, and I used to deliver pizza in bad neighborhoods. Maybe it's the boring or shitty way the cars look or the dark tinted windows that keeps thieves at bay.

just thought of another good tip. this goes for engine builders and stereo guys, DO NOT PUT DECALS ON YOUR WINDOWS!!! it is free advertising saying "hey! i have something made by kicker in here" or edelbrock or whatever. i knew some guys back in high school that were not the most honest people in the world and they told me that they always looked in cars like that. not to mention most stickers look retarded anyways, keep your car looking nice and clean!
