You made it sound like nobody uses email and I average getting 35-40 a day, my wife who is a doctor gets 75-100 a day, we both get more now than 5 years ago, so no we aren't all whiz kids and yes, email is still very widely accepted as a first line of communication. I didn't know that many people had to login to email every time they want to check it, 2 clicks on my iPhone, iPad ,laptop, office desktop or home desktop and there's my email. Yes I do have to login every two weeks.
This isn't about a pissing contest anyway, it's about a promise made, not kept and not communicated on, the seller was totally in the wrong on this, not the buyer and it seems way too often personal feelings and politics has people protecting the guilty and rolling the aggrieved under the bus.
Calling him a thief was jumping the gun, however that in no way shifts the blame away from the seller. Being busy is no excuse, I run a business, I'm president of a large car club that runs multiple events for charities and administrator of charitable foundation. If I promise a guy heads will be shipped tomorrow they will be short of a catastrophe, and if something absolutely prevents it, I will contact the buyer that day as soon as I know it. Don't believe it, check my seller feedback on the Pontiac forum or ebay. Hell yes, it's inconvenient sometimes and all that but slacking is way too common and becoming way too tolerated.

Re: Supskylesup THUMBS DOWN!!!

a good way for this to be avoided is once figured out he wanted it. pick a day you can ship it (make a day work) and then after you picked that day take the payment. then ship it. i had this happen on oldspower. i couldnt find a day i could ship. the guy wanted it i made him not pay me till i found the day i could ship it (2 weeks after we agreed on me selling it to him) i then i took his payment and then i shipped it. communication all the way too every day is a big thing always always keep in touch with your buyers and sellers dont leave em in the dark! thats why most the time i like to get phone numbers too, most the time i wont buy from someone without getting there phone number.
im sayin this all could have been avoided

Re: Supskylesup THUMBS DOWN!!!

I don't think any harm was intended, just the ball got dropped, but when that happens, just say so, without a bunch of qualifications,
: "Sorry man, I didn't get the parts shipped last Saturday and now I'll be busy for a week or so. I'll ship them asap, is that o.k.?"

If that had happened by Tuesday after the shipping promised Saturday, this wouldn't even be a thread.

Re: Supskylesup THUMBS DOWN!!!

A doctor, of course email is a main way to communicate on the job, which I was not referring to. If you read the whole post maybe you would get what I meant by that instead of getting so literal. As I said, why bother going into your email when you can just pm way quicker. Maybe you guys still use your emails, but with this current generation, excluding on the job, email is slowly but surely dying as means of communication when it comes to this aspect. I shoulda known a small statement like this would cause people to chime in and rant about something off topic. Anyways, sorry to thread Jack. People never cease to amaze me. Lol

Re: Supskylesup THUMBS DOWN!!!

Well, you shouldn't be amazed, when you call someone an out of touch dinosaur, because they use a different form of communication than you, you shouldn't be surprised that they react. And that's exactly what you were implying, although I'm really behind the times, I don't understand how you communicate with people by PM or PT, if they aren't a forum member. So what is it that replaced email when I wasn't looking?
Just kidding you dude, but you get my drift.

Re: Supskylesup THUMBS DOWN!!!

Did you actually read my whole post or just the quotes?? Never said anyone was an out of touch dinosaur lol.... and in the case, the person is a forum member......maybe I worded something wrong, maybe some people are taking it the wrong way.. it was a simple statement, no more no less...lol didn't think it'd cause a whole page of nonsense lol it wasn't meant to start a debate LOL.
