I'm looking to swap my 1 speed 200 to a nice overdrive 200-4r in my 80 'bu. I have a column shift and would like to keep it for now. Is there any kits with what I need for the swap?
I know I need a crossmember plus extensions, carb bracket for the TV cable, something to convert the column detents for the shifter to 4 forward gears instead of 3.

There's no real "converting" linkage, you gotta bend n reshape your linkage. It's not hard to do, but I wouldn't turn down the idea of a TH350. also, welcome to the site.

if you do it right, all of the detents will line up, there will just be a detent below "1".

Yeah, that's nice, but the indicators are in the cluster. I'd sooner get a cluster from a stick shift car or make my own and have an auto on the floor.

I would, too, but my indicator went away the one on the firebird was in the console. Gotta do what I gotta do (for cheap).

I have a factory TH2004R frame extension if interested, just cut the plate from the original frame section and weld to yours.

sadly my welder moved to Louisiana a few months back, so for now I'm on a bolt in only regimen. I did find a bolt in one on ebay for I think it was $60.

The detent or rooster comb can be changed out in the column and I found the linkage bar from the column to the z bar to be different from the 3 speed vs the 4 speed there shaped different and the 3 speed won't allow a manual shift into 1st gear

Hmmmmmm, good info! I'll have to look into that on the Pig swap. My buddy told me that you just got 2 2nd gears. I wonder if it can be adjusted....
