BUILD THREAD “The Juggernaut”

I just read that oil slid some more today - I'm glad you found a gentle landing. Thanks for sharing the motivational project details. I look forward to seeing the Juggernaut hit the road.

Hey, not a problem sir. It really is my pleasure. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to make something match what I envision in my head, and then posting the results. The forum's feedback usually lets me know if I've hit the mark or not, so keep it coming good or bad.

I'm really happy with the way the car is coming along, and I'll be ecstatic when it finally hits the road. With any luck, I'll be able to continue sharing the journey with you all along the way.
🙂
Thanks!
Donovan

Donovan,
The beginning of the year has been super busy with other things. My buddy is running behind on his bathroom, and with the new baby he is a bit overwhelmed I think. I really am just waiting on him so I can use his facilities.

My youngest two daughters have been having all sorts of competitions and stuff for dance, so that has really been eating up time. I hope to be sanding and priming the wagon soon.

Insane fab, and quality custom work. Hope to see an update on this great thread soon ✌

Thank you!
The car is currently in its bi-yearly hibernation. The summers here are too short to spend locked in the garage, so I usually suspend work on it 'till the fall. That, and I've been busy getting my other '80 fine tuned after a complete driveline swap.
Currently there's not much to update on The 'Naut, other than the fact that I finally got all the modified headlight bezels and the grilles back from spray chrome. He apparently had some trouble with the one side in particular, and had to redo the one grille and bezel 4 times before he got them right.
Unfortunately, he was not able to keep the black portions I had already painted, so those areas will need to be done over again to achieve the look I want.
On the plus side, they now look great and are tough to tell they're not the original chrome.
🙂
Some pics of them back from spray chrome:

I'll likely start back in on the car again in September or October. Be sure to check back then when I get "The Juggernaut" steam rolling forward again! Thanks for checking out my build thread.

Wow I haven't heard from you in a while. I want to see this amazing car complete and Burning Rubber! I know you haven't stopped working on it though.

You may not have heard from me in a while, but I assure you, I have been and will continue to be around for some time.
I usually check in on the forum a couple times a day, just to see what everyone is up to and stay current on everybody's builds. The problem is, I'm usually pressed for time and don't always have the time to post or respond to others threads.
I appreciate your kind words, and I can assure you that no one wants to see the car done and "burning rubber" more than me! That being said however, I'm simply not willing to rush through the project to completion.
I've seen the progress and build quality on your ride (nice job so far and good score on the new 442 body btw!), so I know you can relate.
🙂
And you're quite right, progress on The Juggernaut never truly stops. Even when it's in hibernation, I'm always planning and scheming the next stage in the build.
Thanks for checking in on it, and stay tuned for its next round of mods.
Since I seem to love posting pics, here's a quick sneak-peek of some of the things that are upcoming...

You dirty dog.....nice little teaser pics lol! Those custom bumper supports look awesome, so do the suttle flares which is usual of your craftsmanship! I understand when you say work never stops....I've always got something in my sick cutlass infested brain on what the next step might be. Progress is slow going on my end with bodywork being done but I'm starting to see a purchase of base and clear in the near future woohoo! Keep it up,
scott.
