It’s like Christmas morning V2.0.
Today the magical FedUp fairy left this on the porch for me.

Shhh, don’t tell motorheadmike as it’ll just go straight to his head, but I went with the Hellwig kit. His, plus recommendations from L92 OLDS , JAMCAR223, and a few others, plus being the best bang for the buck were the deciding factors. Thanks guys.

I know there will likely be a few modifications required for my application, but that’s nothing new for me. I rarely use a new part straight out of the box without modifying something on it, I more so look at whatever it is as a good starting point and go from there.

UMI drag bar.

I ordered mine. and it's on the way. I got Jeg's to price match the SD Truck price of $225. I'll use the 70% rule... the Hellwig rear sway bar = 1"( 25.4mm ) is 70% of the F-Body front sway bar = 36mm.
Here's the math - 36mm x .70 = 25.2mm VERY close. This is good enough for my cruiser
Be interested to see how D modifies his Hellwig bar.

I’m very close in-line with the specs too James.
My front Hotchkis bar is 1.480” with powdercoat (1 3/8” without, (34.9 mm, call it 35 for round numbers)), so by using your same equation:

35 x .70 = 24.5mm. Rear bar is 1” or 25.2 mm.

So as you can see I’ll have a little more front bias, but that’s ok because of the weight I’ve got up front. BBO + all steel custom built hood = it’s pretty nose heavy.

As for modifications, they probably won’t be all that extreme. Cutting the end links to get it sitting level at ride height, welding the saddles on to eliminate the unsightly U-bolts, and using the stainless lock collars outboard of the axle bushings to keep it from shifting around.

Oh, and the ugly grey hammertone finish will be going away too.

I mean, I'm not shocked about this. More intrigued by what will happen next.

Gotta finish the little fabrication project I’ve got going on that I haven’t posted on yet.
After that’s done I’ll install the drop center link, (hopefully) lower ball joints and then the swaybar assembly. Then blow it back apart to get the bar re-powder coated in gloss black to match the rest of the suspension pieces and rear end.

D- when you get a chance could you post the part# for the stainless collars, please. IIRC, that is McMaster -Carr?
