I was picturing dark blue but the light blue I don't think would have been much better with the black body either. I had a light blue in my old 78 Cutlass and I was ok with it but it was the same color as the body so it worked.

I can't wait to see some finished pics of the interior. Since the colors are the same as mine it will give me an exact representation of what I can end up with if I go with their seats.

Havent done a single thing to my cutlass since the last update but did buy a 2in cowl induction hood.
More updates on that later.

The Scat seats look good in there, how well do they match your vinyl rear seat?

The rear seats are the same color as the door panels too. The only thing is they are used but are in good condition. To reupholster the rear seats would be breaking the bank for no reason hehe.

Came back from work today and cracked at it. Took my new (to me) hood and made space for a working area for the repairs/prep. Picked this hood up real cheap and an offer I could not pass. I believe it is a 2in cowl hood. Can anyone tell what brand is it by just looking at the photo?

Also bought a wood oil/stain for my steering wheel. Haven't applied it though.

Here are some of the supplies for the hood.

I simply plan on doing a real cheap paint up on the hood. The olds paint isnt spectacular so throwing on a 2k would be pointless. Maybe down the road I can do a whole paint job. But not now. The hood does come with hood pins I will keep it that way I plan on using these

Black anodized hood pins. I feel like chrome hoodpins on a trimmed gbody sticks out like a sore thumb lets see how black looks. Well this is what will be keeping me occupied for the rest of February.

I know I promised pictures but its usually 15° out side...

Is the hood steel or fiberglass?

I really like Danish oil as a wood finish. But it doesn't really seal the surface. Glass cleaners can still stain the wood as well as the finish. But it is durable for handling. I use it on the wood handles of my wood working tools. I think it will be perfect for a steering wheel though since once it dries oils don't hurt it and UV light doesn't affect it like they would a polyurethane. If you give it a coat of paste wax I think it will stand up to anything.

Make sure you shake the can a lot. The oil separates from the color fairly fast.

Its a fiberglass hood. I thought about using a stain oil but paste wax never came to my mind. So are you suggesting that I use paste wax without the oil or do I use the oil and then use the paste wax? I do sometimes have my hands fairly dirty when coming back from work and I wouldnt want to ruin my wheel.

Paste wax over the Danish oil finish. It will be just a little added protection over the oil finish. The Danish oil you have stands up well against dirty hands even oils.

I think the car will look nice with the cowl hood.

Went to the Depot of Homes and saw the wax...oh ok this looks good. Standing in the middle of the isle I read the instructions, then I saw the warnings. Harmful if swalowed may cause nerve damage if exposed! I dont know If I want something like this on my steering wheel:rofl:
Do you think it means while handling or even when applied?

Working on the hood got to sand the exterior down quite a bit to be primed after the repair. (More on that later)
On the underside would seem like an unnessary thing to make it look right but I might as well if its out already. The seams are really uneven an some spots are chipped or cracking.
