Thanks yea me neither I plan on using the "Cowl Induction" emblem on the hood from a 70-72 Chevelle. So it will appear stock.Hood is lookin' good! Can't wait to see it installed!
Looking good OldsOne, keep up the nice work. Kudos to you for taking on that hood project. A lot of people would've passed up that hood simply due to the condition. They're just not prepared to commit to doing the necessary repair(s). In this case, their loss really is your gain! I've seen your attention to detail, and I know it'll turn out great. Keep the pics coming as you progress. 🙂
Me either. Work all day, dinner, then the night shift on the car. Thanks much. Yea its true most people will pass but I guess that's what separates hot roders from not roders. Hah. And why not buying an out of the box hood wouldn't feel as rewarding.
Before I headed to work I went to check the hood out to see if the epoxy worked, and it did! No surprise from the epoxy that stuff is strong. More work after work...😵 sounds like I don't rest.
I think you may be right. Oh well guess i might as well clean that up somehow.I doubt that hole is for a lightbulb. If you compare where the hole is to where the hood sits on the car in the closed position, you'll find its inside (back of) the weatherstrip. That hole would be inside the cowl area by the wiper arm. Doesn't make sense for it to be there, not even for wiring for an underhood light. I suspect somebody made that hole, possibly for drainage of any water that makes its way inside. Just my opinion.
