one of them even keyed my car in front of me with a smartass look on his face because he didn't like that I put an SBC in instead of a turbov6 in my n/a Regal

and you did nothing about it even with all the witnesses that must have seen it happen....I find that story very hard to believe

Exactly with all those people if he did anything he could get hit with assault charges. These days everyone wants to play the victim, doesn't matter if the guy keyed his car, destruction to property doesn't give someone the right to beat some one up in the law eyes. However I also find it hard to believe you didn't confront him for it.

Does the import need to be "stock" for this line up? And if so, who has a stock G body that wants to play? Great lakes dragaway has RSD which is "real street drags". No time posts, full street race style races, just done at the track. Run what ya brung kinda deal. I'll bring my stock lancer DE ( grocery getter wife car, car seats and all) to run vs a stock G body. LOL Just to get stock time slips to post. Now if we want to play mod vs mod on the import vs g body, I can bring one of my other toys. I would think the TSi talon on a 50trim turbo and stock motor (stock cams, stock valve train, stock head and stock bottom end) would suffice vs quite a few G bodies without a roll cage. Just sayin. If we want stock vs stock slips, im in. My cutlass isnt road worthy right now, or i would have someone drive my lancer and I drive the cutlass. But alas u can see in my pix that my car might not stay in 1 piece to get to the track an hour and a half away. LOL

So milwaukee area guys with a stock G body that wants to hit up the grove for TNT or RSD to test this theory out, lets do it.

I think it's more about one group or sub group saying unwarranted putdowns to other groups than racing or who is the fastest. I don't have any urge to walk up to someone and tell them their car is crap, even if I don't agree with their choices, but sadly some guys are eager to do just that. About 3 different times I have had GN guys walk up to me at car meets and insult my car and me to my face unprovoked, one of them even keyed my car in front of me with a smartass look on his face because he didn't like that I put an SBC in instead of a turbov6 in my n/a Regal. When I used to go to the turbo Buick forums (because there weren't n/a Regal forums), I mainly would get flip answers or putdowns, had to go to Cutlass, Monte Carlo, and F body sites to get real info and advice.

Wow.

The only stock g body that was performance minded were the turbo buicks. All the rest were just badged smog Cars. It doesn't make since to compare a stock 30 year old non performance car vs really anything made the past ten years.

Apples to oranges people.

Oh boohoo! Everybody knows El Camino's are where its at

Hey, I can bring a 30yr old import too. LOL Its "stock". "factory" even. cause all those parts I put in it were in stock at some factory. Just not where the car was built in bloomington IL.

FFS 3 of my imports are more domestic than half the domestic cars anymore. My talon, eclipse and lancer, all manufactured at mitsu in bloomington IL. Even though the talon and eclipse all had mopar parts in them. Thanks to the DSM venture.

No need to justify your imports to us, we all know that the CEO, CFO, president and thousands of engineers and management it takes to produce a car are not in this country. So there pay checks, taxes they pay, and money they spend is all done somewhere else, not here. Then when they sell a car they partly assembled here, the profit also leaves the country never to be seen again.
